Help me
be myself.

During the first three years of life, a child’s brain triples in size. Our Toddler Community is prepared to make those years rich, caring and respectful.

THE FIRST THREE YEARS

A relationship of trust that builds confidence and self-esteem.

These three years have a significant impact on a child’s future life. This is why the environment must be rich in experience, caring and respectful. In our Toddler Community, the adult is available for the child and listens to their needs.

This period—when the most significant changes in physical and mental growth are observed—is essential for the development of personality and individuality.

THE MONTESSORI TODDLER COMMUNITY

Explore with all the senses.

The Toddler Community is a carefully prepared environment in which children explore with all of their senses to meet their physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs. As they explore, toddlers learn independence and follow their interests in a safe and loving atmosphere.

  • Children from 12 months, as long as they walk steadily
  • Full days only, Monday to Friday—respecting the need for repetition and order
  • Small adult-to-child ratios for individual support
  • Trilingualism: English, French and Arabic

FOUR AREAS OF GROWTH

Language, order, movement and independence.

01 / LANGUAGE

An explosion of language

From around two, children experience an explosion of language. Each activity is a sensory experience that leads the child to observe and then to name. In our fully trilingual environment, each adult is the referent for one language—English, French or Arabic—shared through songs, games, reading, describing objects and positive exchanges.

02 / SELF-DISCIPLINE

Order that builds the mind

The carefully prepared environment lets children explore and make decisions freely, while respecting class rules and limits. Its order supports the child’s internal order and a logical, self-disciplined mind. Working with materials first presented by the guide, children develop a love of work and longer periods of concentration.

03 / MOVEMENT

The hand is the tool of the brain

Materials are adapted to the child’s strength and size, easy to carry and designed to stimulate. An open space allows free movement for gross motor skills, while a multitude of activities refine fine motor skills: washing dishes, sweeping, peeling, pouring, screwing and unscrewing, opening and closing bottles.

04 / INDEPENDENCE

Help me to do it by myself

Practical-life activities help children take care of themselves and their environment. Through free choice and autonomous, uninterrupted work, they develop harmony of body and mind—and positive values such as confidence, self-esteem and the desire to learn.
