Theory of Knowledge
Students explore how knowledge is constructed, question assumptions, examine different perspectives and develop critical reasoning skills.

LEARNING · DIPLOMA PROGRAMME · YEARS 12 & 13
The IB Diploma Programme prepares students aged 16 to 19 for success at university and beyond through academic rigour, independent thinking and effective time management.
THE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
Learning in the DP emphasises conceptual understanding, critical analysis, advanced research skills and academic writing. Students are challenged to think deeply, manage complex workloads and engage with learning in a disciplined and responsible way.
The programme further strengthens the IB Learner Profile and advanced Approaches to Learning skills, with a strong focus on academic integrity, independent inquiry and intellectual curiosity.
THE DP CORE
The DP Core supports students in becoming balanced, principled and reflective learners.
Students explore how knowledge is constructed, question assumptions, examine different perspectives and develop critical reasoning skills.
An independent, in-depth research investigation of up to 4,000 words on a topic of personal interest—preparation for university-level research and writing.
Experiences beyond the classroom that support wellbeing, leadership, personal growth and meaningful contribution to the community.
DP SUBJECTS OFFERED · INITIAL PHASE
For the first year of implementation, PMIS offers the DP Core (TOK, Extended Essay and CAS) alongside the following subject choices.

DP READINESS AND SUPPORT
At PMIS, high academic expectations are balanced with strong academic and pastoral support. Students are guided in developing advanced writing and analytical skills, effective study habits and strong time-management strategies.
Structured support is provided across the DP Core, alongside comprehensive university guidance and opportunities for leadership and personal development—so students meet academic challenges while maintaining balance and wellbeing.
IB AUTHORISATION STATUS
PMIS is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School and shares the IB’s commitment to high-quality, challenging and international education. Candidate status does not guarantee authorisation.

“As a candidate school for the MYP, we are proud of the progress made in recent years. … Designed for students aged 11 to 16, the MYP serves as a bridge between the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and our vision of offering the Diploma Programme (DP). We are committed to completing the full authorization process to become a recognized DP school, providing a rich, concept-driven curriculum that fosters international-mindedness, inquiry-based learning, and personal growth.”
“Equally important to the success of our programme is the partnership between home and school. … Your presence at parent-teacher meetings, exhibitions, and school events plays a vital role in strengthening the learning journey.”
