Planète Montessori International School

LEARNING · MIDDLE YEARS · AGES 12–15

Where learning
meets purpose.

Middle School at PMIS is more than a transition—it is a transformative journey, combining Montessori principles with internationally recognised standards.

PATHWAYS TO THE FUTURE

The years when students discover who they are.

These are the years when students begin to discover what they care about and how they want to impact the world. We nurture that journey with intention, care and a globally minded approach—challenging, inspiring and supporting every learner academically, socially and emotionally.

Planète Montessori International School is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme and is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. Only schools authorised by the IB can offer its programmes; candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted. Learn more at ibo.org.

WHY CHOOSE PMIS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL?

Six reasons families choose us.

Our Middle School programme combines the best of Montessori principles with internationally recognised standards, creating an environment where students thrive.

01

Personalised support

Individual mentorship, small class sizes and a strong teacher–student connection ensure each learner receives the guidance they need.

02

A pathway to the DP

Our programme is thoughtfully aligned to lead seamlessly into the IB Diploma Programme.

03

Whole-person growth

We focus on intellectual growth and emotional well-being, helping students build confidence, resilience and empathy.

04

Creativity & leadership

Through project-based learning and real-world challenges, students develop the skills to succeed and lead in the future.

05

Global recognition

Our approach blends the IB philosophy with British Schools Overseas (BSO) standards, preparing students for global success.

06

An inclusive community

PMIS is a place where every student is valued, heard and encouraged to be themselves, in a warm, supportive environment.

A WORLD-CLASS ACADEMIC FRAMEWORK

BSO standards. IB philosophy.

We follow British Schools Overseas standards, ensuring a solid academic foundation, while embracing the inquiry-based, student-centred philosophy of the International Baccalaureate.

Our goal is a seamless educational journey through the MYP and IB Diploma Programme, preparing learners for international university admissions and global careers. Our first cohort of high school students is already preparing for the full IB Diploma experience.

INSPIRING & STUDENT-CENTRED

Learning that connects, challenges and inspires.

Students don’t just study subjects—they engage with real-world questions, work through interdisciplinary projects and build skills that go far beyond the classroom.

01

Project-based learning

Meaningful, inquiry-driven projects connect academic disciplines. Whether solving local environmental issues, designing prototypes or exploring cultural identities, students learn by doing.

02

Critical thinking & reflection

Learners are encouraged to ask questions, evaluate sources and reflect on their progress, helping them become independent thinkers.

03

Personalised growth

Through regular goal-setting and mentorship, each student progresses at their own pace, supported by teachers who truly know them.

04

International benchmarking

Standardised international assessments track academic development, tailor support to each learner and show families how their child performs on a global scale.

Our learners’ progress is monitored with GL Assessment, administered at least twice a year.

  • Engage deeply with global issues such as sustainability, peace, human rights and education
  • Develop 21st-century skills like negotiation, diplomacy, public speaking and collaboration
  • Gain confidence in expressing themselves and standing up for ideas that matter
  • Connect with young people from around the world, learning to value diverse perspectives
